Fresh from two weeks off, we made our way back to The Barrel II in Portsmouth on Friday night. I hadn’t realized that it had been exactly two months since we had played there, and it really showed when many of our friends turned out and packed the place for us. What a great audience, too – not only loud and gracious with their applause, but even giving John Fautheree a well deserved standing O for his rendition of the classic Santana tune, “Europa”.

Fast forward to Saturday night, and we were back in Virginia Beach at Froggie’s Cantina.  Again,  a great audience of friends, and we met several new people that made it clear to us how much they enjoyed the band. It really was a great night, we’ll look forward to seeing everyone again when we return in November.

Fall Break

It’s that time of year, where most of us kick back and enjoy the changing temperatures and falling leaves, and Dave goes out into the woods and kills things! Seriously, it was a great summer for us. We made a lot of new friends, and found a few new places to play along the way.

I can’t think of a better way to have said good bye to summer than by spending it at the Khedive Shrine Pig Pickin’ in Chesapeake. Not only did we have a great time playing for everyone, but organizer Nancy Lane passed on to us that this one was the most successful that they’ve ever had, which means that a good deal of cash was raised that can be used to do a lot of good in our community.

We hope that you all had a wonderful summer, we’re looking forward to kicking off the Fall season in style on Friday October 17 at The Barrel II in Churchland.
